Welcome to AgeWiseU

Welcome to AgeWiseU!

I’m Dr. Melissa Batchelor, and I am a nurse, nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience caring for older adults and their families. I have hosted a weekly podcast called TiGO since 2020, focused on topics related to aging, age-friendly initiatives, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Are you in a position where you need to provide support to a person living with some form of dementia?

Are YOU?

  • Overwhelmed with the amount of time and energy it takes to find answers and figure everything out on your own?
  • Finding conflicting information online which only adds to confusion?
  • Worried that the person may not be safe at home because they are having more trouble managing their finances, medications, or driving?
  • Frustrated with how hard it is to get help and answers from health care providers?
  • Experiencing feelings of anxiety, guilt, and uncertainty about what’s coming down the road and how to best handle difficulty conversations, identify resources, and getting the right information to make informed decisions?
  • In conflict with someone because they are resisting change or help they need and won’t listen to your advice?

These issues are not easy. It is a complicated journey, full of uncertainty, questions, and struggles ~ but it doesn’t have to be.
